NEW MUSIC: AIMES – EVERY TIME WHEN I SEE YOU

Aimes is Aman Ellis who last featured back here, with a very odd, experimental concoction. Will his new EP by quite as odd? There’s a track to download.

Lead track Every Time When I See You is described as indie dance. But that doesn’t begin to explain it. This is electronic pop bent slightly out of shape. A bit Bill Nelson, for those with longer memories. A bit early 80s synth. A bit woozy carnival. Nowhere near as odd as his last offering but too much pop for me. The downloadable track is Is A Good Friend? which is more straightforwardly electronic. The vocals remind me a bit of PSB’s West End Girls, even though they are female. This has a nice uplifting synth feel, despite the questioning of the title. Better track. But another confusing change of direction from Mr Ellis.
