NEW MUSIC: Suburban Dream – New Years Day

You might remember we had Suburban Dream’s remix of Kid Loco last year. He’s back with a new EP of downtempo originals, just right for Ambient Sunday.

Best track is the delicately funky New Years Day. Comes over like Kid Loco crossed with Thievery Corporation, with that lazy head nodding feel. This is combined with piano and flecks of dubstep which balances out the drifting away with slight jarring. Quality.

Suburban Dream – New Years Day

Second track on the EP is Modern Ballroom. This is channelling the spirit of Mr Scruff in its use of sampled piano lounge music allied with quirky beats. A bit of fun but not quite as complete as New Years Day.
