REMIXING CLASSICS: DEATH IN VEGAS

Since Richard Fearless is unexpectedly back with a new Death in Vegas album Trans-Love Energies, I thought we might have a new remix of an old track. The track is Dirge from second album The Contino Sessions (1999). Whilst the original is driven by breathy vocals and a krautrock feel, this remix significiantly extends the trackĀ and gives it a more epic dubbed space drone feel. I really like it. More on DiV here.

  1. Richard Fearless. mega respect for this chap for several reasons. Spinning a PINK Rez at Headstart at turnmills back in the day (i had to jump through several hoops, including financial, to get my one; so i only span the re-issue with Cowgirl on the flip). Having an uncanny resemblance to a actor who wound up playing the baddie in lots of cult-trippy 70′s films (or it might be the chap from Tron/The Omen…). Oh, and Dot Allison. That preview is ace BTW and Mixmag like it; whispers of BTWS.

  2. BTWS – Beyond The Wizards Sleeve, I imagine. Richard Norris and Erol Alkan – released Re-Animations Vol 1 early 2009. Mediocre reviews. Hope that helps.
