NEW MUSIC: AUTOKRATZ PRESENT BAD LIFE #1
New EP out from Autokratz. Includes a couple of free downloads, plus remixes to listen. Largely conventional electro.
Autokratz have featured here before with a variety of approaches, including their cover of New Order. This time, they’re going for a much more straight electro dancefloor approach. Heart Attack Man is a screaming bit of electro. Sucker Sirens does exactly what it says on the tine – electro and horn sirens. So far so conventional. Tai takes Sucker Sirens and adds a bit of light, shade and, crucially, fun to the track to produce the strongest tune here. Night Symmetry simplify Heart Attack Man into a more conventional tech/techno electro track. none the worse for that. And finally, Lazy Ants strip down Sucker Sirens and add fat low end bass. Least successful remix.
Blurb: Tai (Boys Noize, Turbo, Dim Mak) leads the pack with the kind of spine-shattering electro for which he’s renowned. It’s hard. It’s infectious. It’s an extraordinarily good remix. London newcomers Night Symmetry go for a more techy yet no less devastating take on Heart Attack Man, whilst Lazy Ants follow their recent Crookers collab on Dr Gonzo by stripping things down yet further and throwing in a whole load of earthquake inducing subby throbs.
