TEN TECHNO CLASSICS 9: Meat Katie and Elite Force – Ju Ju
Okay, so you could argue that this isn’t a techno ‘classic’ because it’s only eight years old and, therefore, doesn’t qualify, or that Mr Katie (Mark Pember) is not a techno artist proper, to which I would reply, unclench. I don’t believe that one should be hamstrung too much by dates and stringent parameters, particularly when a record is as good as this. A perfect example of the sort of tune that could keep me moving joyfully for hours, an insistent, heavy bass pushing along some reverberating vocals, a writhing acid backdrop seeping in slowly, which twists and turns every which way and a great break five minutes in, all adding up to a very satisfying offering.
