NEW MUSIC: Arkarna – Left Is Best (Rednek VIP Mix)
We had a dance mix from So Called Scumbags a few days ago of Arkarna’s new Left Is Best single. Here’s something that takes the track in a completely different direction – euphoric dubstep. To listen and download.
I’ve drawn comparisons with Example before now and said that Arkarna hadn’t quite hit that pop/dance mark. With this remix Rednek may just have done it for them – almost. The first half of this track is an almost perfect modern confection of poppy singalong lyrics, euphoric trance-like chords and a bit of dubstep bass for a winning gritty smudge. And then half way through it decides to make a bid for proper cred by sticking hardcore bass squelches and smears all over it. Sadly, that’s most probably going to put off Example fans, like my wife, who enjoy the singalong element on the radio.
