Two Kris Menace tracks in a week. What’s going on? And it’s Lana Del Ray. Was perfectly prepared to dislike this and cast it into the trash. But I couldn’t goddamit. Listen only.
This is beautifully put together by Kris. Introduced by delicate echoing piano, this gradually builds the tension until it’s ready to add in the smooth vocals – which sound a bit Kate Bush – but still doesn’t have a cheap break. Cleverly, waits until 2mins before the break arrives in a wall of hands in the air synths. Huge. Smart work Mr Menace. Damn you.

I’m sorry. Am I missing something? This sounds like some ’80′s throwback, the sort of track that furnished the likes of St Elmo’s Fire or Pretty in Pink and had Melanie Griffith staggering around in trashy high heels under really big hair.
