Barney Carter – Park

Any email that starts “producing a unique blend of electronic music; fusing home-made samples, cut up beats and ambient synths” has me going for default snooze mode and clicking on delete. Glad I didn’t this time because this is a really, really lovely piece of electronica from Bristolian Barney Carter.  I’m not sure how instrumental music can be ‘thoughtful’ but this is. Quite beautiful. His debut EP in August is going to be one to look out for.

Meanwhile, check out this quality remix: Sleepwalkers – Rear Window (Barney Carter Remix)

And these further trax

Blurb: Barny is a 22 year-old Bristolian multi-instrumentalist, producing a unique blend of electronic music; fusing home-made samples, cut up beats and ambient synths. Barny remixed fellow DryCry artist Sleepwalkers’ track ‘Rear Window’ earlier this year, creating a fresh and exciting take on the track. Since then, the relationship between Barny and DryCry Records has developed, and we are thrilled to be at a point where the five tracks to be included on the debut EP are complete. We are really excited about Barny’s sound and can’t wait for everybody to hear the EP. A piano technician by day and musician by night (piano, guitar and drums), Barny truly has music running through his veins. He performed at the BBC Emerging Proms and regularly features on BBC 6 Music’s new music shows. ‘Park’ is taken from the forthcoming release which BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson recently declared “fresh and gorgeous”.
