Theatre Of Delays – Journey To The Sun

We’ve had plenty of remixes from Theatre of Delays over the last 6 of 8 months. But never an original. Let’s rectify that with a nu-disco track for free download.

Berlin’s Theatre of Delays has a good record of quality remixes – everyone from Daft Punk to Giorgio Moroder to Indeep to Air. All of the remixes are good. The Daft Punk one even improves on the original track. But none are terribly different from the original versions. There’s a risk that there will be a lack of ideas for original tunes. Happily, not the case.

But first, he’s no biog, so let’s see what we can tease out from Ted’s Top Ten quiz:

1. Weatherall or Oakenfold? Oakenfold.. especially the Unfinished Sympathy Remix

2. Real Instruments or Synthesisers? Both

3. Dance or rock? Dance

4. Bier oder Kaffee? Both

5. Brandenburg Gate or Potsdamer Platz? Both boring…

6. Death or Disco? Disco

7. East Berlin or West Berlin? Both

8. Georgio Moroder or Daft Punk? hahaha.. check my remixes… ;-)

9. 808 or 303? 808

10. Eisbein or Pfannkuchen (Berliner)? Pfannkuchen

Journey To The Sun is the first in what is promised to be four releases. It starts with a twangy guitar bass sound before developing into something synth-based. And then it takes off even further. This is almost an amalgamation of influences from Air, Daft Punk and Moroder but creating a new bit of nu-disco. Classic but modern.
