The Twister and West on 27th (Jerome Robins Remixes)

A couple of 90s tunes get remixed by Jerome Robins. They’re not out until mid-August but you can listen to The Twister.

Viper’s The Twister was originally released in the late 90s on Hooj Tunes. Not a label I particularly followed, so I’ll confess the tune is unknown to me. It samples bits of Nina Simone and even a riff from Duran Duran’s Save A Prayer. This is unashamed big room progressive house stuff. But well done, in the way that the central refrain is used continuously but blended with other sounds to remain fresh throughout. West on 27th has that Peace Division endless drums feel, which if you’re not on one sounds kinda dull.

Viper – The Twister

Blurb: 2 classics from the vaults get a re-rub from former Release Records partner Jerome Robbins. First up we have Viper’s Hooj Choon ‘The Twister’ that gets a big room re-rub, using the seminal main riff as it ‘twists’ and turns through the track. West on 27th gets a Twilo late 90s era remix via Canada for some proper late night vibes, reminiscent of classic Peace Division cuts.
