Visitor Seven – UYIO (Visitor Seven ViP Remix)
A new mix out of UYIO by Visitor Seven, the ambient alter ego of Slighter (Colin C). This is part of a remix EP out now on Beatport.
I called the original UYIO mix ’austere’ minimal techno (see here). This new DJ friendly mix is some 25 seconds shorter and focuses the track down on its minimal techno essentials. This is all about the spaces between the notes and the underlying, half-hidden bass sounds.
You can buy the EP from Beatport. It comes with a range of remixes. Simon Firth ups the tempo into something approaching early progressive house. Diego Macias allows a long, long build up before it breaks out into an almost house tune. Finally, Cybernalia, who goes for a slightly po-faced metal techno mood. Macias’ is the most interesting of the three. Here’s a clip:
