Booty Hunt are from Montreal in Canada. But hardly a name to make their mothers proud. Which is a shame, since this isn’t the full-on bass attack I’d expected. It’s way more subtle. There’s a creaking weirdness to the intro and the out-of-focus vocal. And it retains that other worldliness throughout. A bit of wood block xylophone and bass kept low key. Lovely bit of IDM. There’s also a remix from Snails which makes it more into a leftfield dance floor tune. Bits of electro styling fight with trance synth stabs and glitches. No-one gets overall control.
