Coed Pageant – The Seasons EPs Vol. 3: Sundry Summer
It looks as if it’s going to be an indie kind of day. Dunno why. Just working out that way. After this morning’s offering from fiN, here’s Americans Coed Pageant with their third seasonal EP. Only $1 to buy.
Last time I described them as ‘annoyingly perky‘ . And, in truth, they still are. Apart, that is, from Summerstorm. This is a little downbeat number. A beautiful fragment of a tune. Strummed and plucked guitar set again the noise of a storm – reminding me of the REM off-cuts like Mandolin Strum.

Blurb: We’re Coed Pageant, an indie-folk band from Urbana, IL. We have just released our third EP, Sundry Summer. It is Volume 3 of a four-part series called The Seasons EPs we will be releasing over the course of 2012. We’ve been compared to Yo La Tengo; about us, Huffington Post said, “”this Urbana, Ill.-based male/female two-piece has all the charms of Mates of State…” Recorded in our living room, during one of the hottest Illinois summers on record
