Psyche-space-crunk-joint anyone? This is what was on offer from American DJ Self Help (apparently his mother call him this, which is a bit strange). Dunno what genre this is but if you like electronic things slow and leftfield, this is for you. Free download.
The original of Tidal Wave is a slow thuddy thing, with a bit of added chip music. Kinda dull to be honest. DJ Self Help’s remix makes a virtue of the stately pace by turning it into one of those walking in treacle tracks. It does give it a psychedelic edge, which is accentuated by a sample (apparently) of astrud gilberto saying “lu-lei”. Interesting.
