Sybel - Hyper Dimension

New release on Kinetika Records from Sybel, a Miami-based DJ. This release sits somewhere around the tech house / techno border. All very Plastikman. Go for the Adam Curtain remix.

The original mix is sort of techno. But it’s a very Germanic, straight-faced affair. All very precision engineered. Quite leans towards tech house. A bit lacking in feeling.

The B side is a remix by the UK’s Adam Curtain, who is new to me. He cuts the track down to size by lopping off 3 minutes. But critically he adds in a welcome dose of acid. This makes the tech influence trippy, rather than samey. Doesn’t quite batter you with beats as you might expect, which gives it a just-back-from-Ibiza feel. Quality remix.
