Renegade Soundwave
Posting Women Respond To Bass last week made me return to Renegade Soundwave’s mid-90s work. The album Howyoudoin? is a ridiculously under-rated piece of work. It seemed to have wonderful crossover appeal but sadly sank without a trace. Free download below.
In addition to the album title track, their eponymous single from 1994 was another classic track. This mostly gets heard in its Leftfield guise, so here’s a different mix, which I think is Renegade Soundwave (RSW International Underground Mix). This is a bit less poppy than some of the other mixes and a bit more laid back than the Leftfield mixes. Lovely.
And here’s a more recent remix from Supahighway Hookerz which ignores the laid back dubby approach of the version above and ramps up the pounding drum patterns and acid bass line. Free download
