Freedom Fry – Summer In The City – Lane 8 Remix
Two acts previously featured here get together for some late summer sunshine synth pop. Lane 8 (previously here) and his electronic synth funk get blended with the French/US duo Freedom Fry (previously here) as part of their new remix EP. Available for free download (name your price).
Freedom Fry’s combination of synths and breathy vocals can risk being a bit twee. And an EP comprising remixes of a single track can be a bit much. Happily, Lane 8 gives it a twangy bass which adds a bit of salt to the sugar. But it’s still a late summer synth pop tune. Kinda cute. Unless you’re D, in which case you’ll hate its frivolity.
