Jack’s back. After the stormer that was Anchorage, here’s a 30 min mixtape of his own stuff which becomes a track of its own. This is a teaser for his new Empty Hearted EP, out next week. Free download.
Jack explains the mixtape. “The first two tracks in the mix are also the first two tracks on my new EP which you can cop at the GlitchSquad page next wednesday (09.19.12). Also the 2nd to last track is my unreleased remix of “Brand New Colony” by The Postal Service. Don’t think of it as a collection of tracks, think of it like one 30 minute piece of music… a Future Bass Symphony!” And, it does have some inner coherence that lends credence to treating it almost as a single track. There’s plenty of synths but not in the pickled-in-aspic 80s way. There’s shards of guitar. There’s a bit of American dubstep bass and electroness but not so much as spoils it. There’s a modern EDM feel, if that isn’t damning it with faint praise. Like.
