Notorious BIG’s Life After Death becomes Resurrection, a warped leftfield house techno tune. BIG is almost gone except for some ghostly muttering and a laugh. Makes death seem such fun. But the real winner here is Gifts & Curses which takes Jay-Z’s Blueprint 2 and converts it into a brief piece of gorgeous dub techno, with a spooky edge. Think of it as an early Halloween present.
