Chicago Word Brigade – Komence de la kaj
Summat from Thee Pause on his new label Organic Intelligence. I’ve no idea how he’s connected to Chicago Word Brigade but after CWB remixed his tix2prague single (here) he’s now produced the CWB single Kommence de la kaj. Expect experimental electronic.
Kommence de la kaj would appear to be esperanto, meaning something like ‘And In The Beginning’. The biblical style reference (“In the beginning was the Word…”) is reinforced by the organ, choral and portentious drums as the track slowly unfolds. If the Orthodox Church made dance music, this is how it’d sound. It does resolve itself into something more recognisably dark dance by the end. But it’s some statement of intent. Thee Pause then provides a remix of the track. This is a dark ambient versi0n of the original. It makes the most of the choral elements, until beats come, unexpectedly, thudding in. The final track is La marsas de la naudek nau procentojn (or The March of the Ninety-Nine Percent). This is a much more expected goth dark dance track. Very Sisters of Mercy.
Blurb: The debut single from Chicago Word Brigade on the new label Organic Intelligence. Available everywhere worldwide this October 20th. All songs written and performed by Chicago Word Brigade except where noted. Produced by THEE PAUSE
