Domenique Xander presents “Let me tell you”
A new three tracker of Chicago house techno on Black is Back Recordings. Vinyl only.
The first two tracks are from Domenique Xander, from Berlin. He’s been around for some 15 years and Black is Back is his label. Opening track Let Me Tell You starts off rather too lounge jazz for my liking and never quite shakes it off as a Chicago House style takes over. Uplift is more on the money, with a funky house style but avoiding the temptation to go all Jamiroquai. Amor Fati does the last track – We Are Sun People. A restrained bit of bongo techno. Under normal circumstances people should stick bongos where the sun don’t shine. But this works really well to give a blissed feel.
