Cuttooth – Old Tape Machine feat. Hitomi

cuttooth

Been a long day, today. Need something with which to unwind. This crackly bit of downbeat is just perfect.

Cuttooth is Nick Cooke from Newcastle Upon Tyne. He’s clearly a bit of a DJ Shadow fan. This has that hip hop feel. There’s also a bit of early Portishead about the vocal from Hitomi (from King Midas Sound). And, you gotta love the crackling in the background.

And this is equally lovely

All clicks, pops, hiss and static are an aesthetic choice. Lower-Fi. I have an album coming out this year on 4Lux White and an EP coming out on Plynt so keep your eyes peeled for those.
