CHARITY SHOP CLASSICS (11)

A couple more tracks from the charity shop rummage. One well-known (Faithless), the other oddly less so (Ondar).

First up the well-known one, Faithless. Faithless is a British band whose music is described by the band as a cross between hip hop, pop and dance. While they are mostly famous for their dance songs (“Insomnia” “God Is A DJ” and “We Come 1”), they have produced albums which offer a blend of styles. For today, a remix of one of their biggest hits “God is a DJ”by Israeli trance superstars Astral Projection. Another unsubtle trance track.

Next up, Ondar. Kongar-Ool Ondar is one of Tuva’s (central Asia) finest throat singers. For those of you who have no clue what throat singing is all about, just imagine yourself belting out a low note much like how you would imitate a roar. Then imagine a high pitch whistle accompanying it at the same time. In some forms of throat singing, four notes come out at once.
