You know, there are some tracks which just SHOULD be a hit. But for some unfathomable reason, the public doesn’t share your opinion and it isn’t. Here is one of those. A House track with clear crossover potential from Cabaret Voltaire.

Keep On was released in 1990. It was the last and best single to be released from the classic “Groovy Laidback and Nasty” album recorded with Marshall Jefferson. Keep On has the enthusiasm and optimism of the best house from this period. It was rleased in a number of remixes. Although this would become a sad record company ploy in the coming years, these remixes are by and large excellent. Here are three (all vinyl rips):

Cabaret Voltaire – Keep On (Mayday Mix) by Derrick May

Cabaret Voltaire – Keep On (Sweet Exorcist Mix)
NB: Discogs says “The Sweet Exorcist mix is not by Richard H. Kirk and Parrot. It’s a mix by Cabaret Voltaire called “Universe Works Mix”. The title was changed by the record company’s marketing division without permission.”

Cabaret Voltaire – Keep On (Land Of Oz Mix) by Paul Oakenfold apologies the quality isn’t great on this one
