D IS FOR DEJA VU
Deja Vu is a bit of housey house, who were signed to Cowboy Records.
Deja Vu were Barry Ashworth and Blaine Scanlon. I know nothing of Blaine but Barry will re-appear in the letter D, as he was main man for The Dub Pistols at the end of the 1990s and is still active today. Meanwhile, Deja Vu were only about in the 1993-1995 period, releasing half a dozen singles but no album. As Barry said in a recent interview “I used to be in Cowboy Records and I’ve written songs for people such as Boy George: the Deja Vu ‘Why, Why, Why?’ track went top 40.”
