D IS FOR DAVID HOLMES (ABSOLUTELY THE LAST ONE UNTIL H. ABSOLUTELY REALLY. CROSS MY HEART AND HOPE TO DIE)

Blimey! I hadn’t realised there was such latent demand for David Holmes. And because I want the Valentine’s card promised by an anonymous poster, here is another track from the “Stop Killing Artists” set and a very special remix by David Holmes.

This post features a track from 1998’s “Stop Arresting Artists” quadruple 12″ which discogs describes as “Vinyl only release for this ultra limited edition remix box set of “Let’s Get Killed.”” Not all of the mixes are unique to this format, since a number appeared on other releases. This time the remixer is the Stereo MCs. Possibly one of the weaker remixes in this glorious set but still better than most remixes. Seriously worth picking up a copy of this quadruple pack. Not too expensive here.

The other remix is one by David Holmes from 2001. It was for the single “Beautiful Day” vinyl-only remix pack for that impossibly successful Irish band, U2. David’s not done remixes for many rock bands. If you’ve not heard it, this is not what you would expect from a David Holmes remix. It turned the guitars all the way up to 11.
