Espiritu were signed by Heavenly in 1992. Initially a collaboration between Vanessa Quinones and Chris Taplin (ex-Frazier Chorus), it evolved into a solo vehicle for Quinones in collaboration with others.


We dealt with the early stuff in Part 1 and Part 2. This post and the next one pick the story up from 1995 when seemingly Quinones and Taplin had split. Quinones started working with Tin Tin Out to rework an earlier Espiritu cover version – There’s Always Something To Remind Me – the Burt Bacharach / Hal David classic. They turned a so-so House cover into a full-on cheese fest at the Euro Disco. But Quinones sounds as though she’s having so much fun that I almost forgive her:
