Force Legato was Oliver Lieb & Torsten Fenslau who collaborated on a solitary release in 1989 called “System”, which was then released in remix form in 1990 and 2001. Oliver Lieb has come up before as The Ambush. The “Force Legato” alias was one of his first projects, with “System” being released by ZYX Music. In 1992, Oliver Lieb met Matthias Schindehutte, A&R man for the newly formed Harthouse label, who contracted him for the Spicelab project. Spicelab went on to become one of the most important Harthouse projects and the figurehead of the Frankfurt techno scene.
