M IS FOR MONO

Mono were Martin Virgo and Siobhan de Maré. They released a single album and a few singles in 199697. Despite lots of promotion the album was inexplicbly not a hit. Shame, Siobhan had a lovely voice. And the album “Formica Blues” is definitely worth seeking out. Don’t just take my word for it, this is from discogs:

Being a dj both in clubs and radio i must say, this is one of the most under-rated and overlooked cd’s of its genre. Martin Virgo has meshed the music so beautifully with Siobhan De Mare’s voice that the instrumentals can sell as a seperate cd. I wish these two never disappeared from the d scene. Shame on Mercury records for letting them slip through their fingers. Buy this cd and you will not be dissapointed. It’s the perfect lounge and relaxing music for you and your trendy friends. Turn em onto something hip for a change.
