CHARITY SHOP CLASSICS (49)

Two acts today. Baby Ford and Dub Federation. Some proper acid house and some indie house (if that isn’t a term I’ve just made up).

Baby Ford has featured here a few times before. Baby Ford (real name: Peter Ford) makes experimental minimal techno and is one of the founders of the U.K acid house scene. He has been releasing tracks since the late 80s. The featured release is a remix of very early underground hit “Oochy Koochy” (1988). It comes with the exhortation “Warning: Beware of expensive imitations calling themselves “acid”” and “The Definitive UK Acid House Record”.

Dub Federation was Andy Ellison & Pete Latham. Their name was sometimes written as “D.U.B. Federation”. Starting out on the leftfield Brainiak Records, the featured track comes from their third release “Keep On Giving” in 1991 and features a remix from Justin Robertson.
