S IS FOR THE SWEET EXORCIST
Sweet Exorcist were the first LP release on legendary UK label Warp Records. From the days when Sheffield went “bleep”.
Sweet Exorcist were Richard H. Kirk & Richard Barratt. With Richard coming from avant punks Cabaret Voltaire, they were a blend of old and new. As discogs rather succinctly puts it: “Seminal “Bleep Techno” collaboration between Richard H Kirk and DJ Parrot, taking the name from the title of the Sweet Exorcist LP by Curtis Mayfield. Their Clonks Coming became the first album release on Warp.”
From 1991’s CC EP:
Sweet Exorcist – Jack Jack
Sweet Exorcist – Kick Jack
