T IS FOR THE THIEVERY CORPORATION (PT 1)

Quite possibly the best downtempo act of the last 10 years. Washington’s superb Thievery Corporation. Full of dub and South American influences. And political too.

Not sure how many posts we’ll have on them. Nothing from their wide back catalogue of albums, of which every self-respecting house should have a couple – Mirror Conspiracy and Babylon Rewound are my favourites.

Today we’ll have a selection from the original Lebanese Blonde single. This is the nearest they have to a signature piece of music, and you are bound to have heard it somewhere. This is its early long form, different from that which would appear on the album:
