Regular readers might recall that this blog has been a long time supporter of biancardi. He’s done mash-ups and minimal. But with mixed results. Now his new “Diving” EP shows a promising way forward.
Both tracks are nice chunky house. He calls them progressive but I’ve no idea what that means anymore. “Pressure” is a curious one. It grooves away for 2 minutes without ever quite taking off, only to stop for a brave woodblock solo before properly bringing in the breakdown. Just about gets away with it from the fabulously bouncy, almost disco-ey, feel (think Grum). Almost makes me want to get out of the Zimmer and onto a dancefloor. “Underwater” is the more accomplished track. Nothing complicated. Uplifting chords for an early evening dancefloor.
