NEW MUSIC: UNDERWORLD
Electronic-music stalwarts Underworld will release their first album in three years on September 13th. The upcoming release, Barking, features collaborations with Dubfire, Paul van Dyk, High Contrast, Mark Knight & D. Ramirez, and Appleblim & Al Tourettes. According to a statement issued by the Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, all the tracks were written by the band in their Essex studio before being “given to handpicked studio heads from across the whole spectrum of dance music to add some of their style and creativity to the band’s raw material.”
After completing a series of gigs in Australia in June, Underworld will be touring extensively toward the end of the year. The band will also headline the iTunes Festival at London’s Roundhouse on July 17th.
In the meantime, “Scribble” is available for free download from underworldlive.com and will be commercially released on June 28th, including a remix by Hospital recording artist, Netsky.
It’s a cheeky funky breaksy kind of number. Somewhat un-Underworldish.
