WHERE’S THE WEATHERALL?

Been far too long without any Weatherall. Here’s some Aloof from 1997 with Weatherall on remix duties as Two Lone Swordsmen. And another remix by Ashley Beedle. Pretty straight up house these.

The press release says: “The Aloof release their third single and title track from their widely acclaimed album Sinking on May 19th through East West Records. On this DJ only 12”, alongside the original album version we have the Two Lone Scordsmen ix by Andrew Weatherall and two mixes from Ashley Beedle – The Soul Deep Club mix and the Nautical Cosmic Break mix.

After an exceedingy busy autumn and winter, which saw them tour the UK (twice) to ever increasing audiences, make their first appaearance in the Top 30 with ‘One Night Stand’ and weaving their way through Europe, Messrs Barrow, Thatcher, Kooner and Burns could be forgiven for resting on their laurels. However the Aloof bandwagon keeps on rattling on it’s intoxicating way into the summer as they play the Essential Music Festival in Brighton on May 24th – merely the beginning of their usual glut of fesitval appearances.”
