Ex-Electribe 101 songstress gets roughed up in dub mix from Deep Dish.

Billie Ray Martin has featured here a few times. She first found fame in Electribe 101. Electribe split in 1992, and Billie released her first solo record in 1993 together with the progressive house duo Spooky, a cover of Throbbing Gristle’s ‘Persuasion’ transformed into a dark electro-torch song. After that she contacted The Grid and recorded the superb E.P. ‘Four Ambient Tales’, a wonderful trip into gentle ambient blues.

From 1999’s “Honey” 12″ an over-dramatic track gets taken back to the dancefloor with hefty beats:
