BARGAIN BASEMENT: JOE ROBERTS (THE BELOVED)

Bought this on account of there being remixes by The Beloved (previously here). They’re pretty housey housey.

Knew nothing about Joe Roberts but Wiki says: Joe Roberts is a Manchester based English musician, and one of the artists in soul/dance group Bodhi, formerly known as Dark Flower. Roberts recorded for London Records for several years, but his interest in clubland led him to Grass Green Records, which released his “Sweet Mercy” single in 1995. The track did well in the dance charts, leading him to record an album in that vein. Prior to Roberts starting to record with business and life-partner Melanie Williams, he also had solo hits with “Lover”, “Back In My Life” and “Adore” originally by Prince on his Sign “☮” the Times album. Together with Williams, Roberts covered “You Are Everything”, previously recorded by The Stylistics and later covered by Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye.

From a 12″ of remixes issued in 1994 of Roberts’ 1993 single “Back In My Life”:
