NEW MUSIC: BOT’OX

New track from the po-faced Parisians. Not as austere as the last track, a Morgan Geist remix. Better even.

From RCRDLBL: Generally speaking, club-wrecking Parisian producers tend to come in two different sartorial types. The first are those sorts sporting day-glo New Era caps and other telltale signs of ecstasy abuse, while the second kind look like Bot’Ox, the nom de guerre of Tekel’s Julien Briffaz and Benjamin Boguet (who you might know better as Cosmo Vitelli). Bot’Ox scowl and you can never see their hands and they look like hitmen from the future. This remix of “Blue Steel” makes zero effort to dampen that image, DFA pair Still Going turning in the sort of pulsing disco/techno cut that will only ever conjure thoughts of flying cars joy-ridden through the peaks of pollution choked dystopian skylines. As such, it’s pretty sweet—find more of this ilk on Bot’Ox’s Blue Steel Remixes EP, out October 5 through I’m A Cliche. A debut album, Babylon By Car, arrives two weeks later.
