THE ALOOF WEEK: 7

Last post in The Aloof week. We end with an epic piece of techno and a dub-inflected remix.

The epic piece of techno is the B side to 1994’s “Society”. The A side is a wonderful track but you can get that on the Cover The Crime LP. The B side was recorded at Sabresonic, providing a nice Weatherall connection. Unlike much of the rest of their output during this period, Drum is a lovely slab of techno. Nothing terribly subtle, just full ahead.

The remix is from the 1996 remixes of Vinyl Blair’s “Blair Necessities Remixes Pt 2”, released on Leftfield’s Hard Hands label. Previous post on Vinyl Blair here. This is a much more dub influenced track, a bit like Victim from a couple of days back.
