It’s been a while since we had some Yothu Yindi. Normally, that means one of the variants of Yothu Yindi’s hit Treaty. Not this time. Today, we have Leftfield’s prog house classic remix of Timeless Land.

There’s more on Yolngu aboriginal band Yothu Yindi from a previous post here and on Leftfield here. Timeless Land was one of the follow-ups to 1992’s Treaty, coming out in 1994. I agree with the sentiments of this discogs reviewer, if not the grammar:

Leftfield took an already good track and trip it out to something monstrous. Keeping the original tribal feel while injecting a massive bassline and a chuggy trancy base over an already tribal foundation. And it still sounds fresh today. Barnes & Daley did good.
