Some very soundtracky electronica from Lanes. Listen or buy only.

Normally, when bands send out stuff there’s some blurb about how wonderful they are and how they’ve appeared on Wisconsin’s third largest radio station. Not Lanes. A track link and nothing else. Nada. Nil. Zip. Got my attention. Turns out he’s based in Brooklyn NY, which is oddly disappointing. Somewhere more obscure would have been better.

Racing The Tanker has a lost, eerie, slightly bleepy intro. Then turns into electronic spy film music in a sort of cross between Orbital and Propellerheads, driven by a combination of bass and synth. Nice enough to listen a couple of times, not strong enough to buy.

Checking a bit further I’m relieved that there is a blurb on Soundcloud which maintains my faith in these things. It has this classic “”Verity” has also recieved an hour-long feature on KUCR 88.3 FM, with almost all tracks airplayed by a number of college radio stations including KLCC (OR), WRSU (NJ), WRUV (VT), KNDS (ND), WMNF (FL) and a few more.” How do we know he isn’t simply making up a set of random initials? [that’s a joke btw]
