NEW MUSIC: Mice Girls – Twitchcraft
I’m not a fan of Halloween, so this is as close as I’m going to get. Some strange lo-fi electronica with a curious Oriental influence, breaks beats and even a theramin. Not your usual cheese. Treat Caerphilly. But what do you expect from a track made in Cardiff?
Blurb: In 2009 old friends Jules Davies and DJ Samantha Evans (aka Sam the chef) got together to form the Mice Girls. Sam wanted some original breaks for her DJ sets so they decided to put some bits together. Hitching a ride down the A470, they arrived in Cardiff where they began experimenting with their newly acquired collection of car boot keyboards. The dynamic duo have forged their low-fi electronica sound with 80s keyboards and a DIY attitude. Twitchcraft becomes our 28th release on Jack to Phono for the Halloween season! The Mice Girls have arrived with their wonky sound. Make the most of it before they disappear up their holes!
Released 24/10/2011 on Jack to Phono records
