TEN TECHNO CLASSICS ADDENDUM: CJ Bolland – Camargue (Bolland Breaks Remix 2003)

And in a slight return, here’s a track that D levered out at the last minute…

I quite like Camargue but it’s not a huge favourite, though the synth intro is lovely. It just never really got my juices flowing until I found this seven and a half minute white label from 2003 that possesses the basics of the original but gives it an extra dose of balls with a hard-hitting drumbeat that fair takes your breath away. A sparse, crisp sound with the synth slicing across the beat like venomous razor cuts, this kicks in hard from the beginning, grabbing you by the scruff and, in the words of Mr Holmes, shaking yer brain, not to mention your body as well. I could find no info on who remixed it or its provenance other than the year it was released. Anyone? Answers on a postcard, please. Meanwhile, enjoy.
