NEW MUSIC: EDLX.020 – Endless – Connection EP

Proper, proper techno via Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe label from Endless and their new Connection EP. To listen and buy.

There are three tracks on the EP, with two clocking in at over 9 minutes. The EP opens with Synchronising, which has the dark relentless techno tones of early Underworld but without the lighter synth relief. Easily the best track here. Varying Paths plays a bit more of the minimal card. The EP ends with Clearing, which has more dark murk but less effectively than Synchronising.

Endless – Synchronising

Endless Connection EP

Blurb: Endless return to Electric Deluxe to continue the collaboration that began with the Area EP earlier this year. The Connection EP expands the Endless sound in every direction, simultaneously deeper and yet more confrontational than before. The EP was created by Perc and Giorgio Gigli with one eye on their debut performance as Endless at the end of November at Berlin’s legendary Berghain, alongside Speedy J, Terence Fixmer and Gary Beck.

From the driving yet murky atmosphere of lead track Synchronizing to the feedback and distortion meltdown of Varying Paths, Endless have created an EP which combines Giorgio and Perc’s signature individual sounds to create something neither producer could make on their own. Across the 3 lead tracks and their respective DJ tools the EP combines ambient soundscapes, rolling drum machine rhythms and modern day techno all infused with a hypnotic, trance-like quality that runs through everything Endless create.
