2011: That was the year that was: No.2 – the man

Of everyone who’s appeared on these pages over the last 12 months, the person who has consistently impressed me most is Max Cooper. He has delivered some beautiful IDM techno and done sensitive remixes of classics. He appeared deservedly on the RA top 100 for the first time.

He not only produced more originals to go with his exceptional series of EPs (Chaotisch, Stochastich and Harmonisch)

Max Cooper – Chaotisch Serie

But also podcasts, like his RA mix for free download

And here’s a lovely unofficial remix to download:

Max Cooper – Solace (Grumble Remix)

He also some great remixes of classics, being as comfortable with Sasha’s prog trance classic Xpander as FC Kahuna’s downtempo Hayling:

Sasha – Xpander (Max Cooper Remix

FC Kahuna – Hayling (Max Cooper Remix)

Honourable mentions also go to The 14th Minute and Carl Craig. The 14th Minute for doing remixes of things that I hate but can’t help humming along to. And Carl because it was 20 years for Planet E in 2011 and because he is still producing the most wonderful sounds.
