Marshall Watson – Ambiences

Acid Ted favourite Marshall Watson is back with some new tunes. This time some ambient post-rock .

One of the reasons I like Marshall’s work is its unpredictability. From his competition-winning ambient remix of Underworld (here) , through IDM funk (here) to drum and bass. This time it’s guitars, with delays and field recordings. All very evocative. He says they’re works in progress. The Park In The Morning is gentle electrified guitar with elements of drone – a bit like Warning Light’s work. It eventually adds further layers of guitar and gentle tinkling. This sounds like the smell of dry grass on a warm day. Lovely. Rain on Polk St has the same delays and almost-drone sound but deeper with some hissing bass. Not quite as successful as The Park In The Morning.
