Chris Coco – Word
Been a long time since we had any of Chris Coco’s chilled sounds. He has a new album – Freedom Street – out next week. Here’s the first track from the album, with vocals from Andrew Docherty.
Docherty not only provides the words but has also added trumpets. This converts Chris’ normally lush chillout sounds into something with a stronger dash of dub and impassioned soul. Pleasant enough but not sure I’d buy it.
Blurb: Andrew Docherty is a Scottish singer songwriter who lives up west. We gave him a backing track inspired by early Factory Records dance acts like Quando Quango. He came back with a fully formed song, complete with horn section and distortion. Word is a single taken from the album Freedom Street.
