Theatre Of Delays Megamix 2012
After the success of Theatre of Delays’ remix of The XX’s Angels (here) comes this megamix, which takes all of his remixes from the last year and blends them together in an hour long megamix. The big attraction here is two previously unreleased tracks. This mix is for free download and most of the individual tracks are also still up for free download.
Inevitably, the mix starts with the Angels remix and its soft synth sounds before getting on the dancefloor with the synth remix of In Deep’s classic Last Night A DJ Saved My Life. All your other favourites are here, including Air, Mr Oizo and Daft Punk. There’s a coherent mixing style at work here. All are high quality remixes, with their assured use of synths. But what of the two new tracks? Track With Piano is not as you’d imagine. The piano is treated so it often stays half-hidden amongst the lightly buzzing synths until the closing stages of the track. The mix closes with When I Kiss the Sky, the more successful track. A one note bass line worms its way into your affections. This is synth as rock god. A euphoric ending.
