VELCRO – You Gotta

yougotta

For anyone who’s going out tonight (not me obv), some classic-sounding house from LA-based Velcro. This sticks (geddit!) to piano synth stabbing melody and funky drums; all laced with some equally classic-sounding female vocals. The kind of house that I really associate with early 90s USA. Nothing that we haven’t heard menay times in the last 20 years but well done nonetheless.

Blurb: Formed in the summer of 2012, Velcro is the collaboration of two LA-based DJs Littlefoot and the Sweet Leech. As predictable it may be, the two met at a nightclub but the result was just the opposite. They quickly found their sound over a matter of steady studio sessions within the course of just a few weeks, which is best described as a twist on deep house and nu-wave bass music. While both producers have performed from coast to coast on their own, they both hold a common motive when placed in the booth together; to bring some soul back into the world of modern house music. Currently spending all their time locked into the studio, Velcro can be found working on an endless stream of original EPs, remixes for local friends, and throwback edits. Stay tuned!
