Calculon & Austin Speed / Sinistarr – “VIP Remixes”

Some junglist sounds from Loose Squares records from Calcun & Austin Speed and Sinistarr. Apparently, they are “making big waves in the footwork-meets-jungle scene.” I genuinely have no idea what that means.

Calcun & Austin Speed’s track is Back The Fuck Up. This skips along like it’s 1991 jungle but with that IDM offbeatness of Juke to give it a modern twist. Sinistarr’s Ross is an altogether weirder affair. This distorts pitch, bend and tempo to leave something slow and in places barely there. More soundscape than music for clubs.

Blurb. The latest single on Loose Squares sees two of the biggest bass bass bumpers from our 2012 catalogue–Sinistarr‘s “Ross” and Calculon & Austin Speed‘s “Back The Fuck Up”, remixed for 2013 in absolutely epic fashion. “Back The Fuck Up” gets the undersea sub-bass treatment from Calculon & Austin Speed themselves, while Los Angeles’s Drip (aka Atlantic Connection) turns “Ross” into a monstrous Juke/Bass/Trap hybrid.
